There is no set path so you can complete your mission your way. Destroy everything around you to reach your goal. Mow through enemies as the Gunner, scout ahead and light up the caves as the Scout, chew through solid rock as the Driller, or support the team with defensive structures and turrets as the Engineer.
The main antagonists are various swarms of alien arachnids called Glyphids. Biomes are where the missions take place, and range from galactic salt mines to radioactive tunnels. The game takes place in dark caves on Hoxxes IV, a dangerous planet full of minerals, biomes, and bugs.
